Board of Directors:
Bob Metcalf
|
Bob is a Social Studies teacher and Head Football Coach at La Pine High School. He and his family help to make the recreational activities meaningful and special to his own family and the children and families of others who live in the area. Using football as an analogy for life, Metcalf explained on a recent interview, “When children have an opportunity to be part of a team, working and learning together, every aspect of their lives takes on a new meaning. They learn to be a part of something bigger than themselves and are changed by it.” Bob would love to see more programs develop through the District that would allow children to experience the same kind of growth. |

Arlo Fertig
|
Arlo brings lots of experience to the La Pine Parks board with his 23 years of service on the River Road Park Board in Eugene, OR. He was very active in guiding that district through its growing pains to the multi-million dollar program that it has today. He is dedicated and committed to the La Pine Parks program. He retired from Lane County Public Works a few years ago after 22 years of service and now resides on his acre of land that he has owned since 1979. As his kids grew, Arlo was often the baseball coach and eventually was the assistant coach for North Eugene High School. He has always been interested and active with community programs and particularly youth programs. His desire is to unite the community programs into a strong unit for the benefit of everyone in the La Pine area. |
